Money Room - All You Got
Eighth Day

The lights were on but it was dark
Men in bow-ties lined up at the door
The room was for rich men
And I thought I’d never been there before

The room was a secret
But we all knew what it was for
The rich men of my town like Milton Kishenor

It’s just you and the Holy One
And a silver box
If you’ve got an extra penny you drop it in the box
If you need to feed your family
Take whatever you need from the money room

No one can ever know
If they’re a taker with a plight
No one can ever know if they’re a giver in the night

'Cuz on the outside yeah they’re all the same
With their smiles cigars in those picture frames
And their fancy cars like Milton Kishenor

When I traveled back to my town
To see the room and just to know for sure
There was a line of suits and bow-ties
And an old man sitting at the door

The old man was laughing
Telling men from near and far
The money room is the world we live in
Only you know who you are

It’s just you and the Holy One
And a silver box
If you’ve got an extra penny drop it in the box
But if you need to feed your family
Take whatever you need from the money room

No one can ever know
If you’re a taker with a plight
No one can ever know
If you’re a giver in the night

'Cuz on the outside, yeah, we’re all the same
With our smiles cigars and our picture frames
And our fancy cars like Milton Kishenor

Living in the money room.
